Monsters -- Wolf Herder

Wolf Herder
Advanced by divinity sparks into hulking brutes, wolf herders (sometimes called wolf shepherd) are brutal forest guardians that dominate and command wolves to their own violent ends. Wolf herders loath all civilization and will stop at nothing to tear down the walls of demi-humanity and slake its thirst on their blood. A connection to the plane of shadows allows them to spit forth packs of shadow-wolves to do its bidding.

A wolf herder is vaguely humanoid and bipedal, usually loping about in a hunched over posture, its claws almost dragging the ground. Their fur is almost always grey, turning to silver with age.

Wolf herds speak Sylvan, but only enough to threaten death and destruction to those who get in its way.

COMBAT
From time to time, a wolf herder, or even several working in tandem will gather huge packs of wolves and dire wolves for an assault on a township. They usually test the defenses with a few regular wolves before charging with the pack, using their Stone Crusher Howl ability to bring down any walls that may oppose them.

Rend (Ex): If a wolf herder hits with both of its claw attacks, it automatically deals 2d8+16 additional damage as it rips and tears at its opponent.

Stone Crusher Howl (Su): Once every 1d4 rounds, a wolf herder can unleash a deep, sustained howl that resonates with stone, breaking it apart. All objects made of stone in a 30ft cone take 10d4 damage. This damage ignores hardness. Magic items caught in the cone may make a Fortitude save (DC 19) to negate this effect. This save is Wisdom based.

Wolf Spitter (Su): Three times a day, a wolf herder can call forth the shadow within it to belch forth shadowy wolves to fight for it. Threat this affect as a summon nature’s ally IV spell, except the wolves summoned are immune to critical hits.
